Briefing
In this fictional web-redesign, I had the assignment to find a new and modern look and feel for La Salle. At the time of this project’s execution the existing website was somewhat over filled with information, had an unclear structure and was only designed with the desktop screen in mind and was therefore unresponsive.
Process and challenges
Considering how first-rate the restaurant is, my initial idea was, using photos of the beautiful space, which is a former shipyard, to go for a minimalistic, chic look. Yet, I wanted the website to reflect the buzzing area the restaurant is located in, and it’s versatile, upper-class customers.
Looking through the pictures and content on their old website, I found ones of beautifully arranged dishes, which I used to create a vibrant, young color palette. This palette I combined with the existing content and a simple, minimalistic UX-Design - mobile first - approach.
